Online Dating

After a pretty bad relationship, I tried online dating for awhile and was very disappointed to say the least.  I did not feel comfortable with the whole experience and I received a lot of messages from very nice women who were fairly attractive... or so I thought.  I was the victim of the "Fat Girl Angle Shot" at least 2 times during the year that I tried online dating and that really discouraged me from proceeding any further.  I am sure that I'm not alone in my distaste for the the "FGAS" and another popular online dating cliché.  If you ever try online dating, I hope that you read the following and avoid using the two most annoying and common profile clichés.

First of all, your child is not "your world".  Do you and 6 billion other people live on your child?  No? Then he or she is not your world.  He or she may be the world for the bacteria currently thriving on your child, but you are not residing on your offspring.  Please just say that you are a dedicated parent or that you place your child's well-being above everything else in your life, it gets the same job done without being an annoying cliché.

Secondly, for the love of all that is holy and delicious pie, please stop using the "myspace angle" and the "FGAS" pictures.  How would you feel if someone lied right to your face with absolutely no remorse and you believed them only to find out that it was a complete fallacy?  Pretty bad right?  Yeah, so don't do it.  People lie enough these days through regular means, so please stop lying through pictures.  Even if you do consider using one of the aforementioned methods, most people have adapted and can easily tell when the pictures are hiding something, so it's pretty pointless.  So what if you don't look as good as the woman next to you, there are plenty of guys who will like you just the way you are.  If you're really insecure enough about it, it's never too late to try and better yourself.
